The Fund Investment Office of National Pension Service is a professional organization for the public pension asset management. As we understand our explicit mission aimed at pursuing long-term investment in accordance with the National Pension Act, we are fulfilling it to strengthen and support the national pension scheme of Korea, which covers over 20 million contributors and 3.4 million beneficiaries.
Despite uncertainty in the domestic and overseas markets, we achieved returns of KRW 17 trillion in 2013. And our cumulative return on investments of KRW 192 trillion makes up 45% of total asset, since its inception in 1988.
I take on the job of leading this organization that has exhibited extraordinary growth with great honor and pride. To continue on the growth and further build on it, I emphasize teamwork within and across functions, and with business partners.
